Livelihoods

A combination of a struggling national economy and impacts of climate change conspire to sustain poverty among many rural communities. However, ABDO believes in leveraging locally available resources to support entrepreneurship among the communities in which the organization works. Considering that Zimbabwe is an agro-driven economy, focus is mainly on supporting farmers to monetise farming as well as to adopt climate-smart farming practices. Women and youth being particularly vulnerable to poverty are a focus of ABDO interventions under this programme.
